Sometimes life just seems to challenge us in ways which require us to get a little assistance from someone else. Making a decision to seek out a counsellor to help with some of these challenges is an important one and the process of counselling in an intensely personal one, with no pre-ordained maps or off-the-shelf solutions. Sometimes the process involves a few sessions of counselling; sometimes it is a longer, more open-ended process.
I work alongside people as they work through a range of issues and concerns, including:
- workplace stress
- dealing with change
- grief and loss
- coping with illness
- family issues
- sex and sexuality
- LGBT issues
- career, redundancy and working life
- emotional, physical or sexual abuse
- self-confidence and self-esteem
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and take a humanistic, integrative approach so that the sessions are tailored to you individually. I have a Diploma in Counselling and am an Individual Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, abiding by their Ethical Framework. I also trained in psychodrama for six years and continue my professional development as a member of SCAN (UK Sociodrama and Creative Action Methods Network). I apply person-centred, cognitive and psychodramatic techniques in my work. I work in a confidential and non-judgemental way and assist you to find the answers you are looking for.
I am based at the Waterloo Business Centre, 117 Waterloo Road, SE1 8UL, only a few minutes' walk from Waterloo Station (National Rail Services and Bakerloo, Northern and Jubliee lines).
At your first session, we will discuss the issues you would like to address, the hopes you have for yourself and your life, how I can help you and whether you would like to continue with further sessions.
My fees are £70 for a 50-minute session. My cancellation policy is that missed sessions or sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged at full fee, except in extraordinary circumstances.
